Went in for yearly exam February 2024. Appointment was ok. She asked questions and wanted to do a series of tests outside of primary reasons i was there. Told me to continue meds under previous pcp orders and she would take it from there. Now im out of medications and told to go to e.r for refill. Looking for another pcp. Dont feel like having a seizure. Poor poor care. Would advise anyone to think twice before electing to take this woman as your pcp. Have to be billed by e.r. for a liftime medication. Dont have hundreds of dollars to throw around for a medication that only costs 24 dollars.

New to Abilene, went for a well women check up because she was close to when we I lived. Sent me for blood work and coded it as diagnostic so my insurance refuses to pay the full amount. Scheduled another appointment because she won’t return phone calls, discussed this with her, gave me her supervisor’s number- Sharayah Cooper, called her several times to have this resolved. I no longer have that insurance so they can’t pull my file up to tell me the status of the claim and now I am in collections for 831.00 because I went to see an incompetent doctor for a well woman check- up. Beware!

I am a 57-year-old F with a long history of health issues that began about 2009 following the shooting death of my 21-year-old son. I won’t bore you with details but every diagnosis that I have required specialists in every area to diagnose and establish treatments that actually worked. When we returned home to Abilene years later, having no medical coverage, it’s been heck trying to get and keep my hard earned working plan of care going.

2 years later, With Covid-19 thrown in the mix, and a disagreement about my NPA’s bad attitude one day, I refused to return to her (indigent care’s only authorized clinic), I spent the next 2 years with ZERO treatment/meds and I have been near to death a few times in my opinion!! (Type 2 uncontrolled diabetes, and a connective tissues disorder, and depression sand PTSD among the top illnesses not being treated for 2 years)

Finally obtained insurance and saw Dr Maduka a couple of times. She’s nice. And young. She seemed attentive, however, with all of my requests, and a 2-year lapse in treatment,I just wanted to re-establish my routines ASAP to get better ASAP, and she doesn’t want to address everything at once. I get it!!! But the one issue that drove me back to healthcare is the one being put on the back burner. She diagnosed from across the room my last visit, and only made some minor changes to already existing meds. It take great effort for me to even make an appointment and actually show up for it :(.

Anyway. I digress. I think she may be an excellent doctor in time, just not sure if she can be mine or not - yet. Bedside manner is important, but so is speed in treatment.

I agree with the comments about the office staff being VERY RUDE
I had an appointment at 245pm I arrived a few minutes late and waited in-line to check in. An anglo man in the office was very rude and very unconsidered. First he asked for my insurance card. I told him that they were bringing it to me but nothing had change it was the same insurance on file. He told me “ You needed to tone down with him!” He stated that he needed to see it. I tried to show him a picture of my insurance card on my phone but then he said, well I have to physically see it and I also have to scanned it. I told him it will be here in a few minutes my wife was in the hospital. He proceeded to tell me that I didn’t needed it, because my appointment was at 245 and I was 10 minutes late. He also stated that Dr Maduka doesn’t like for her patients to be late. That I will have to reschedule my appointment. And then he just said next. This person doesn’t need to be working around people.

The most unprofessional primary ever. She rescheduled 3 appointments with me in a row! Been waiting 2 1/2 months to see her. I have health concerns I can’t keep going to the emergency room for. I would not recommend anyone seeing this doctor if you want to me seen ?‍♂️ please trust me

Totally frustrated, had spoken with her about hormone replacement therapy and was told when you are ready and find a compounding pharmacy I will sign the rx. Well that was a lie nothing in my chart mentions this and now have to go back in to see her as this is a new rx, yet she’s out on maternity leave…. Still waiting why have patient portal if nothing is communicated. Healthcare is all about the money now.

I’m highly disappointed in this doctor. I have Hidradenitis suppurativa and I’ve had it since I was 16 130 pounds, and Dr Maduka was very persistent that it was due to me being over weight. Even though it’s a genetic disorder. I ask her for medicine, it took her well over a week to fill it, and one medication she didn’t even fill. Honestly one of the worst Physician I’ve been to.

Dr. Sobie is a wonderful doctor and human. She not only listen to her patients she ask questions and make sure her patient are we'll taken care of. We need more Dr.s like her. Thank you
