I brought my brother here for his birthday dinner. The service was great and the food was good, fresh, and cooked well, but the coleslaw and hush puppies are below average. Everything was great until we got home. He ordered bread pudding to go and this is what he received. They should be ashamed for serving a tiny dried out piece of bread pudding and charging almost $9.

On my short list of Dallas’ all-time favorite restaurants. The service is excellent - prompt and courteous. The newish patio is the back transports you to New Orleans. The cocktail program has expanded and is done well. The seafood remains the star, favorites include fried shrimp, broiled snapper and bread pudding. New to the menu are some outstanding grilled oysters.

You wont be disappointed.

Walked in and ordered to go. The food was not good. Ordered the oyster/shrimp mix plate. Came with soggy gross fries that looked like the oil was never cleaned. Disgusting Cole slaw and unimpressed hush puppues- no flavor and tasteless.

The bartender was attentive in taking my order and the place seemed busy fir a Saturday afternoon. Just wasn't impressed with the food.

Food, service and atmosphere were great. For Dallas this was pretty good for Louisiana style cuisine. Coming from the golden triangle area minutes from Louisiana I’m use to the real deal but this hit the spot for needing a hometown quick fix. The gumbo was excellent and fried oysters delicious. I gave it 4 stars only because I know the real stuff. I would feel ok recommending S&D to friends and family. Casual dining atmosphere with a New Orleans style vibe. The coleslaw is phenomenal.

This is a must dine at for anyone in Dallas. I've gone to this restaurant for probably three decades, most every time I'm in Dallas, as it's a family favorite.

It still has its magic in service, environment, menu, and of course food.

Enchantingly beautiful at night time or day time.

Well-run restaurant that never fails in my experiences with them over time.

This has been my secret Dallas gem. This place is world class. If there was a way to give higher than 5 stars this would be the only place deserving of it! Cocktails are fantastic. The oysters and red snapper are absolutely delicious and the fries.
