Visited again to have a small procedure done on my eyes, recommended by the optometrist. As usual, Dr. Kalski was very thorough, professional and his “bed-side manner” immediately put me at ease.
The staff at his office are also excellent, showing great care, knowledge of what I was there for and promptly answering several of my questions. Not to mention that they immediately made me feel welcome (as usual)

Unfortunately, I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Kalski. I had symptoms of a detached retina when I saw him TWICE. He assured me I did not have a detached retina but just the beginnings of cataracts. Another 3 months went by and the shadow and flashes I was seeing out of the corner of my left eye were getting worse. I sought a second opinion in an office that had more sophisticated and more equipment. They took pictures of the inside of the eye and found that I did indeed have a detached retina. Dr. Kalski’s office did not have that machine or at least did not use it as part of my diagnosis. I was recommended to a retina specialist and had emergency surgery 3 days later. A detached retina is considered an emergency. The specialist says in his opinion, I have had the detachment for over 6 months. I won’t know for a while but the 3 months I wasted because of the misdiagnosis may have cost me part of my eyesight. I am now in recovery which will take me approximately 3 months. Dr. Kalski’s misdiagnoses also cost me and my family a scheduled trip to Paris this Xmas which I will now have to cancel because I cannot fly during the recovery period. This Doctor not only let me down but my wife, son and daughter. Both my son and daughter are nurses, and it was not easy to arrange their schedule to accommodate this trip. I am not very happy right now. I would recommend steering away from this ophthalmologist. Lastly, please take my advice. If your gut feeling of any doctor’s diagnosis doesn’t sound right, always get a second opinion ASAP.

Yesterday was my first time making an appointment at this office. I can say it was a very pleasant experience. The staff and the doctor and everyone there was very professional, and I was taken care of in a prompt manner. I felt very secure and confident that I was in very good hands from the moment I walked in their office and was attended to. The doctor was very compassionate and knowledgeable. He took time to explain everything to me and make me feel at ease. I highly recommend this office and the doctor.
