Dr An is a very thoughtful, capable back and spine surgeon. I would refer him to anyone seeking help with their problems. His nurse Jackie doesn’t hesitate to assist in helping guide patients with various questions regarding testing and imaging services. Kudos to Dr An and nurse Jackie they make a great team. Dr. An did back surgery on me 30 years ago. Other doctors said I'd never walk again, but Dr. An did the surgery and I was able to walk afterwards. He is an amazingly skilled and wise surgeon.

Dr An is one of the most skilled spinal surgeon who was referred to me by one of his residents - he had done my spinal surgery 11 years ago .. fusion of L4-L5 discs .And to this day I have had no further problems !!
I have high respect and confidence in Dr. An and have given his name to many my friends and associates with similar issues ..

The best of the best. I was involved in 2 car accidents that gave me serious pain. I had bilateral leg nerve pain and back pain that made my back stability weak. Doctor An, got the magic touch. I am 3 months post back fusion and I feel great. My leg pain has gone away. My back is stable and stronger then ever, no more pain. Honestly the best decision I made. Trust Doc An, and you to will have a healthy pain free life.

I saw Dr AN (& a terrific young resident whose name escapes me but did premed at ND) on 8-25-2020! I can only say how generous Dr AN was with his time, his thorough explanation of my particular situation, his courtesy, (as well as the friendliness and courtesy of his entire staff) and his friendliness were all at least 12 star on a 5 star rating. I was seeking a second opinion and Dr An had been highly recommended and he did not disappoint. It was obvious he spent some time prior to my appointment going over my somewhat lengthy history. I again would like to stress my gratitude for his unhurried but thorough bedside manner and his several offers during the discussion to answer my questions and finally an offer to allow me to contact him with any future questions I might have! I had a terrible experience with Dr Goldberg, so I decided to try and get a second opinion from Dr. Howard An. I made an appointment, then three days later the office calls saying that he cancelled my appointment. The reason? Dr. Howard An said he looked at my scans and agreed with what Dr. Goldberg had told me (this baffling experience is in a review left for him). Dr. An basically refused to see me because he agreed with this other Doctor who barely saw me for 5 minutes. How can a professional doctor make a decision or give an opinion without even talking to me, the patient, first? How can any doctor who cares about the well being of patients make a judgment without looking at or talking to a patient? I would never recommend Rush Ortho to anyone.

Great experience from reception to Dr. An.
His nurse Jackie was extremely helpful explaining details to me. I loved Dr An’s calm demeanor as he explained procedure to me, that allayed any nervousness I had. I feel very confident in his surgical skills.
