I have called dr.robert polofskys office 4 times in April asking to speak to dr.robert polofsky directly due to a a side effect on the medication that was prescribed to me. I have gotten a blood test in April to not hear a word from the office, especially since I called them 4 times. there has been no follow up.

This month in May I have called on the 10th asking to speak to him over an insurance matter and due to not hearing about my bloodtests for so.

They terminated my care due to an insurance change and only let me know a few weeks through mail, AFTER the appointment i already had.

STILL NO FOLLOW UP. AND only got the women on the phone to allegedly send the bloodtests through mail after calling repeatedly. Still waiting on the bloodtests that i took in April.

Dr.polofsky himself is a good doctor when you are in the office but he severly needs new people to answer the phones.

As other have pointed out, you may often find yourself waiting hours to see Dr. "P" (hence my giving 4 rather than 5 stars,) but trust me when I say he is well worth the wait. He provides the sort of personalized service that doctors used to give you fifty-plus years ago, when they would come to your house with a "little black bag."

He will take the time to try and HEAL you, not just prescribe a pill for your symptoms or give you some canned response to get you out of the office as quickly as possible. He really, truly listens and cares. He discusses your history, your lifestyle, your family background, your diet... everything that could have a bearing on your health, and he treats you like a human being, not an "appointment." And if he doesn't know something, he will take the time to research the issue, and actively include you in the process, so you do not feel like you're "out of the loop."

Another thing I like about Doctor P's office is that you don't have to go to a lab if you need blood work done. They will take blood in their office and send it to the lab. Many primary care providers will make you go to the lab yourself when you need blood work done.

I consider myself blessed to have found a doctor like this in an age where medicine has become just another corporatized big business. I will mourn the day when doctor "P" retires, because there are probably less than a dozen doctors like him left on Long Island, and I know there virtually no chance I'll ever find someone as good as him again.

Don't get me wrong, the waiting time is extensive. I was there for 3 hours, so make sure that the rest of your day is free. HOWEVER. HE IS SO THOROUGH. I've been taking a soup of psychiatric medications and he was thorough enough with me, as a new patient, through each and every one of them. He listened to everything I said and gave me all the time I needed, with no rush. A doctor cannot give you a short waiting time and be thorough at the same time, so be realistic with your expectations on how the visits are "supposed" to be. I have reccomended him to my sister and brother and law who both needed new primaries. He also tried to make many jokes...even though they're outdated...to make me feel better. It was literally like visiting an "Uncle" doctor.

He does not dismiss any of your concerns, which happens more often than not in other doctor offices. I heard of him because a patient of his reccomended him to me while I was at work at the pharmacy LOL. But hey, it was well worth it.

I’ve been coming to dr polofsky since I was a young girl and he also is the doctor for basically my whole family for years as well and I couldn’t ask for a better doctor. He’s very informative and thorough and makes the wait worth it because of how in depth and caring he is towards his patients. He’s never steered me wrong and I wish I could give him a thousand stars .

Horrible I have been going there for a few years dr p himself is good dr/person but his office staff is utterly disgusting and irresponsible. the things that they have put me/my family through, is beyond anyone's worst imagination. I would never reccomend him again, unless he gets a better office staff not to mention his head of the office she's the absolute worst...

Dr P has been my Dr for almost 30 years now…..my parents Dr. and now my husband!! He is COMPLETELY WORTH THE WAIT !!! WE LOVE HIM !! LOVE his staff too !! ESPECIALLY Anna and Marta !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
