I chose Dr. Don as my son's pediatrician as soon as he was born and again for my daughter 10 years later (he was actually my doctor as a child). When my daughter had to be hospitalized, he went out of his way to be there as much as possible - even personally calling to check on us more than once. He is always so friendly (even sings silly songs about our last name). He makes me feel confident in my kids' health care choices, and helped calm my husband and I during my daughter's hospital stay. His nurses are fantastic and I love his staff, they're all so patient and kind - even though I know they must deal with nervous parents often. Even though the drive to his office is much further than several pediatricians in my area, I will choose him every time! Thank you, Dr. Don, for the years of care for my family.

I love this place. Dr Schaffer has seen my son since he was born. My boy was born with acid reflux and apnea. He’s now 9 months and reflux is gone!. He’s very good with kids. I love how he listens and explains things in detail. The nurses are so kind and friendly. Great place, fast and clean.

Dr Schaffer is a wealth of knowledge and understanding. There isn’t much he hasn’t seen or heard. He’s comforting without being condescending and he’s easy to speak with . Pediatrics is a tough practice and he has mastered the parent/patient dynamic exceptionally well. Highly recommend his experience.

My sweet boy has been going to Dr. Schaffer since day one(now 10 months old). He’s incredible. He really knows what he’s doing and has so much knowledge. When my son was a week old he was losing too much weight and he was able to just smell his breath after I breast fed him and let me know that I wasn’t producing breast milk. As a first time mom I had no idea I wasn’t producing. So we got him on a good formula. The nurses, front desk, and student doctors are all wonderful every time. Quick yet thorough. And the 24/7 nurses line has been an amazing help when I have any questions, no matter how big or small. I’m so happy I chose Dr. Schaffer and his staff for my little man. Thank you!

Dr Schaffer always goes above and beyond for my kiddos. Multiple times has come after hours to check on my son at the hospital or walk us to get different tests. He even has called multiple times over the weekends to check up… himself, not a nurse! If you are looking for someone you can trust for you babies, I’d recommend him every time!

Dr Schaffer is a fantastic pediatrician!! He became my daughter's pediatrician when we moved to Kingwood 8 years ago. A year later when my husband and I got surprisingly pregnant at our old age I was ecstatic to find out not only was he able to become our son's Dr but actually worked in the Womens Hospital where I was going to have him and would be there at the birth!!! He's been fantastic for both my kids. My daughter went thru a lot of odd heart issues, respiratory issues, and general feeling terrible all the time issues after puberty and Dr Schaffer listened to her and my concerns but mostly he listened to her and talked with her about them all. Ran ALL OF THE TESTS for her, wrote referrals for a cardiologist and gyno right away and had her in their clinics within days. He didn't hesitate for a second and wanted to get to the bottom of what was going on. He sent her to the best pediatric cardiologist clinic and the best pediatric gynecology clinic right away. It made her and myself feel good to know he was on it. I've heard so many stories from friends and families with Drs not really listening and putting off tests and other stuff. That "well let's wait and see how you feel in a week or so". Dr Schaffer had her in a lab that day and the other clinics within that week. He's been great for both my kids. He's funny and has a great bedside manner. My kids love him and both feel very comfortable with him.

Dr Shaffer has been my daughters pediatrician since birth in 2020, and now my newborn sons pediatrician as well. My husband was his patient when he was little too, and we love Dr Shaffer! I am always able to get an appointment short notice, I am never left waiting a long time in the lobby or patient room.
